Nutrition

We believe everyone needs a daily vitamin regime but having had gastric bypass surgery, dietary supplements are even more critical to us. We have to be concerned with details like delivery methods (chewable or size of capsules) and absorption (how breaks down and at what point of the digestive process its absorbed) as well as the dosage amounts of which specific vitamins that everyone needs examine. These specific concerns require a bit more research into the various products but the resulting choices are applicable to everyone.

Reader's Digest (A Dismal Report Card, Sept. 09) published some results from a comparison of governmental health surveys that show only 26 percent (as of 2006) of Americans are getting 5 servings of fruit and vegetables a day. The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) recommends we get 7 to 13 servings per day. Obviously, the majority of us are not getting the nutrition we need. Juice Plus+ is our method of bridging the gap between what we actually consume and what our bodies need. Please check out the information and testimonials on that site.

We use the products at ibariatric.com for our daily multivitamins and protein supplements. The chewables option is important to us considering the size of most multivitamin capsules and the selection includes some hard to find on regular store shelf items such as sublingual B-12 and the right form of calcium. They are also one of the cheapest sources for the AchievONE protein products.
